What would you like to speak to your younger self in your 20s?

"I wish I figured out that I should work on something that truly called my heart earlier. I was working hard at my younger age, be a good student, working very hard in my job and everything, but I wasn't consciously thinking about what do I want. Listen to your heart, look inside your heart to see what I want. I think it will save me for a few years."

Wise words from Ms. Lei Wang are inspiring and reminded me how important the time you've in your life, to spend it on something that's truly called your heart, something that you want to go back and do it again and again.

I learned that when I'm doing something that doesn't truly lighten up my heart, and when I still want to continue to do it, I found it hard to put my best effort into it. The willingness to sacrifices and putting the effort to do that thing. It won't give you a strong feeling of achievement and fulfillment even after you had completed it. Your heart is not there, and you're trying to distract yourself from something else, or you want to explore a new thing. These are the sign of non-alignment and a feeling of dishonesty appeared.

I'd feel that it's critical to pause and check-in with my feelings and heart when I encountered these situations.

Another lesson I learned from Ms. Lei Wang is changing your mind and giving up does takes a huge amount of courage. But, I felt that having the ability to change your mind is a strength, as told by Gary Vee. It's not easy to face people's opinion and judgment on you when they found out you are changing your mind quite a lot of times. It's may seem not mature and lack thoughtfulness in their eyes.

Are you willing to not internalize their opinions on you and knowing the reasons why you are changing your mind?

If yes, go ahead.

I asked myself some thoughtful questions when I have the doubts to change my mind.

Do I still want to go back and do it again?

If the answer is a big 'Yes, I'll be taking it into my account and nurture it.

If the answer is a big 'No', I'll be giving up right away.

If I have doubts, I'm not sure, either yes or no, I'll be giving myself more time and space to explore and test it. Is it worth the time and effort?

Only you will know it.

Your heart knows it.

You have to disengage yourself from the noises from your family, mentors, siblings, or friends.

You will hear it if you are being honest with yourself and accept that you are wearing a mask or an identity that's misaligned with your true self and values.

In this episode, I felt grateful for the presence of Ms. Lei at Impact Valley. We wish her all the best in her journey and keep heading to her next challenges!
